The American Adventure

The flagship attraction of the World Showcase, mounted with Imagineering's most ambitious audio-animatronics. Franklin and Twain trade off as narrators across scenes spanning the Mayflower, the Civil War, Frederick Douglass's stage, the Wright brothers, the Great Depression. Sets rise out of the floor on hydraulic lifts; the Ben Franklin animatronic walks up a flight of stairs, a famous engineering moment. Capacity is generous, so it's almost always a walk-on. The voice acting and song selections are stronger than the dated framing acknowledges.
