Riders sit on bicycle-style vehicles hanging from an overhead track, flying through a forest pursued by government agents, then over the moon (the famous silhouette moment), then through E.T.'s home planet. The animatronic creatures on the planet are charmingly Of Their Era — the ride feels like it could have come out of a 1980s World's Fair. E.T. says your name at the end, picked up from a question asked in the queue.
